My name is Susan Fishback and I live on Cape Cod with my husband and our two sons. I was lucky enough to grow-up on the Cape and now I’m sharing that experience with my family. If it is summer – you can find me at the beach in pretty much all weather. I love it!!

I began dancing when I was three years old and continue to dance today. I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of North Carolina ~ Greensboro in 2002. After graduating, I moved to Boston and worked in career management. It was here that I met my amazing husband!

We moved to the Cape to raise our family. After becoming a mother, I began learning to cook. My mom is a good cook and helped along the way. I also watched A LOT of the food network and picked up a few tricks along the way. The boys love being in the kitchen and they’ve begun cooking one night a week. It has truly been an adventure!

I have always loved fitness and found my way back as a means to dancing again. I began teaching an adult class called Simply Modern Dance (hence the name of my blog ;)). It was through this class that I re-discovered my love of teaching. I became certified in pilates and I have translated my background into a variety of different classes. I currently teach pilates, yoga, power sculpt/hour, barre, kids yoga, creative movement and I just began helping with the BOKS program at the boys’ school.

As way to connect with my students, I began running. I always ask them to come out of their comfort zones and decided to put my money where my mouth is. Running is easy for some people, I am not one of those people. This challenge has given me so much more than I ever imagined. It has given me a great sense of accomplishment and something to share with my husband. My friends and the boys have also joined in the fun!

I write about a cooking, fitness and my family. I hope you enjoy the adventure and share your own πŸ™‚

Thank you for stopping by!!

  1. Hi Susan! I found your blog from a comment on Dancing to Running. It sounds like we have very similar stories! I was a dancer growing up and now am all about fitness while trying to get back to ballet class when I can. Nice to meet you!
